Scout leaders who registered prior to April 2003 may not have had a criminal background check run. Click here for a PDF memo from the national council on the plan to run these checks starting in June and concluding by August 1. If you receive a letter from Chief Scout Executive Bob Mazzuca, be sure to follow the instructions to have a criminal background check run.
